Welcome
My name is Martyn Bailey and I’m a dual qualified Psychologist and Psychotherapist based on the Isle of Wight. I’m both an HCPC registered Sport & Exercise Psychologist and a BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist– uniquely combining performance psychology with mental-health therapy.
I work with clients who want to overcome challenges, improve wellbeing, and enhance performance– whether that’s returning to sport after injury, managing anxiety, or achieving new levels of confidence and focus.

What I Offer

Individualised Treatment Plan
Every client is different, and your goals are central to how we work together. You may want to:
- Recover from a mental-health condition such as anxiety, depression, or OCD
- Build motivation and confidence to return to exercise or competition
- Improve sporting performance or manage performance anxiety
I use an integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational-Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Brainspotting Therapy.
Together, we’ll design a plan that fits your needs, using structured psychological tools to help you progress quickly and sustainably.

Location & Ways to Work Together
I offer in-person sessions from my base in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, and remote sessions by secure video or phone- whichever suits your lifestyle best.
For maximum impact, I sometimes work on-site with athletes at their training or competition venues to help translate psychological strategies directly into performance.
Similarly when treating mental-health challenges such as anxiety or phobia, we may agree to complete sessions in meaningful real-world settings (for example, tackling a feared situation together). These options are always discussed and agreed collaboratively.

My Approach
Therapy and performance coaching should be active, collaborative, and goal-driven. I’m not the psychologist who simply nods and schedules your next appointment.
We’ll agree on meaningful between-session activities and communicate regularly to keep progress on track. My approach is built around evidence, empathy, and accountability- helping you achieve measurable results that last.
