What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?
CBT is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions and behaviours interact. Together we identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies to manage anxiety, low mood, and other challenges more effectively.
How many CBT sessions will I need?
Every client is different. Some people notice improvement after just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. After our initial assessment, I’ll outline a clear treatment plan and estimated duration tailored to your goals.
Can I access CBT therapy online from the Isle of Wight or elsewhere in the UK?
Yes. I offer secure video or phone sessions, allowing you to receive the same level of support from home or while travelling. Remote CBT is especially useful if you have a busy lifestyle or prefer working online.
What issues can CBT help with?
CBT is effective for anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, low self-esteem, and phobias. I also specialise in supporting clients with rare medical or long-term conditions that impact mental health.
Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely, I follow the BABCP ethical framework, which ensures strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times. The only exception would be if there’s a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
That’s completely normal. I offer a free initial consultation so you can ask questions and get a sense of how therapy works before committing to a session.
